Pettengill I do have to lift heavy boxes at work maybe once or twice a week. Do you guys recommend 3 weeks of time off in this case?

Unregistered I took off 10 days and it was fine. As long as your work doesn't involve heavy lifting or anything too physical, it should be all right.

virgogirl I took 2 weeks off, but I really wish I'd arranged 3, wasn't ready to go back to work,, but I told my boss that I'm only working half days the first part of the week. I was pretty damn tired that whole week that I went back.. Good luck!

Unregistered I'm a teacher and I took six days off, because there is no heavy lifting involved.

I have my own business and took 3 weeks off, but I went back to work on day 12, I only worked half a day. After 14 days I worked full time, I think 2 weeks will be enough for you, if you have a job with no heavy lifting.

Giaz7 Age and overall health is an important factor, how old are you? I don't think one week is enough, I had my drains in for a week and I think you should consult your doctor and ask him as week.

patricia I had surgery on a Wednesday and returned to work the following Tuesday, I didn't have drains, I only used pain killers to help me sleep the first 3 days.
